Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup white sugar

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, ground ginger, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the butter to the dry ingredients and blend with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
