Citrus Braai Coleslaw with Orange Segments and Lemon Dressing

This zesty coleslaw recipe is perfect for a summer bbq or braai. It combines crunchy cabbage, sweet oranges, and a zesty lemon dressing for a delicious side dish that is sure to please.


  • 1 head of green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 oranges, peeled and cut into segments
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley (optional)


  1. In a large bowl, combine the cabbage and orange segments and mix together.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, honey, pepper, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and oranges and mix until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour.
  5. When ready to serve, sprinkle the parsley (if desired) over the top of the coleslaw.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
